Pushing yourself to become or stay physically fit is one of the most rewarding things you will accomplish in your lifetime. Staying healthy into old age will increase your quality of living as you enjoy your day-to-day activities. As founder and owner of CSS Fitness, I have personally never been on a “diet” a day in my life, although I have been overweight in the past.

My journey from unhealthy to healthy did not happen overnight, but the changes I made have now become a healthy, active, and rewarding lifestyle. I never reduced my calorie intake but I made some drastic changes to my eating patterns, including cutting out sugar, processed foods, and sugary drinks. These foods were replaced with healthy protein, carbohydrate, and fats. Over time, the healthy diet paid off – that, and of course, a love for exercise. As my training progressed, so did the number of calories that I was consuming, to a point that I was consuming more calories than when I was on an unhealthy diet.

Erica holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Almeda University. Erica has been in the health and fitness industry for over 12 years. Starting in group exercise, she taught hydro, body sculpting, kickboxing, core strength, flexibility and more. She then accepted the Health and Wellness coordinator position at the Cadillac YMCA, where she created the fitness program, overseeing a staff of 9 instructors. This ended up becoming the YMCA of the USA. She trained and certified instructors in group exercise and attained her own personal trainer certification. Her specialties include; corrective exercise, body sculpting and toning, weight loss, core strength, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning.

Erica graduated from Indiana University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She’s been in the fitness industry for over 6 years, she is very passionate about the fitness industry and shows it in her training style. She enjoys road cycling and riding with group on the weekends. She has been a member of ONE Multisport triathlon club and participated in the Tour de Scottsdale in 2012 and 2013.

 

Samantha

Certified Personal Trainer

Samantha received her Bachelors Degree from Illinois State University in Exercise Science. Teaching since 2009, she is a certified group fitness instructor with a passion for coaching. Samantha enjoys spending her free time reading, walking her dog and cooking. She believes healthy eating fuels performance in and outside of the gym.

Carlos graduated from Scottsdale Community College with a degree in Kinesiology. Carlos specializes in small group training and development.

After operating his own personal training business for several years Nate chose to apply his knowledge and experience in small group training. He specializes in strength training, hobbies include mountain biking and Spartan races.
