Walking up those few flights of stairs when you first get to work in the morning will help spark your heart rate and wake you up, in addition to kickstarting your metabolism rate for the rest of the day. If you find yourself quickly out of breath, don’t worry – it’s totally normal!

Get Funky On The Dancefloor

If anything, dancing is proof that aerobic exercise can be fun. People don’t typically think of dancing as an activity that burns calories and supports your heart health, but it’s true! If you’re really getting into your sweet dance moves, the calorie burn will follow. Depending on how hard you’re getting down, just 30 minutes of dance moves can burn roughly 150 calories.  

Shake Up Your Next Date

If you’ve been in the dating arena for a while, then you might be getting tired of expensive drinks, formal dinners, forced conversation, and a hurting wallet. On your next evening out, why not make it a workout date? Your heavy breathing – because of the aerobic exercise, not anything else – will make those pauses in conversation less awkward, and your elevated heart rate and blood flow should make the energy between you and your date more lively and genuine.

Consider playing an active game or something slightly competitive to create a fun atmosphere – a game of tennis can burn more than 200 calories in half an hour! If tennis isn’t your thing, there are many options out there for simple games that get you moving.

Do you travel often for business or leisure? One of the many nuances of air travel includes layovers, whether you planned for it or not. Try walking around the terminal instead. Commuting Alternatives

If you drive to another city to get to work then we won’t expect you to huff it all the way on foot, but if you’re close to work, consider walking or biking to work instead. While taking public transportation is better for the environment (and your wallet) then driving separately, with all the stops considered, you might be surprised to find that walking or biking doesn’t take that much longer. Plus, all the fuel required to walk or bike to work simply lies in your breakfast that morning.

Treat Your Beater Like a Sports Car

What relevance does this have to getting exercise? Well, people with new, expensive cars tend to park them further back in parking lots, safe from the hustle and bustle of finding that perfect parking spot right up front next to the soccer mom with eight kids. Why not follow suit and make them feel self-conscious for parking so far away by parking next to them?

Not only is your vehicle further insulated from all the traffic, but you’ll have an opportunity to walk further and burn some extra calories in the process.  You’ll really appreciate this one considering the blistering Arizona heat because you can typically find shady spots under trees the further out you park.

LARPing, or Live Action Role Playing

Bear with us on this one. For those not in the know, live action role playing is a form of a role-playing game where the participants physically act out their character’s actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world while interacting with each other in character.

Due to the ‘physical’ part mentioned in the definition, chances are that you’ll be burning some serious calories when you LARP, especially if you’re wearing a heavy costume and swinging heavy (but hopefully not sharp) weaponry around. Survival is a serious matter when it comes to LARPing, so run for your life and your health!

What better way to confront your crippling fear of heights than rock climbing? While you simply might not be able to trust the rope and harness that hold you in, rock climbing is widely regarded as one of the best overall workouts for your upper body, abdomen, legs, and more.
